Red Horse Market has one of the shortest routes from boat to plate in the Hamptons, ensuring the freshest local fish every day.
Our stores are located minutes away from Montauk, considered the “Fishing Capital of the World”. We mainly source from dayboat fishermen, who return to Montauk Harbor every afternoon with their catch and deliver it to us.
Which means fresher fish for our market than catch from commercial boats, which often remain at sea for many days before being resold in New York City and shipped back out east. During summer, Red Horse receives multiple daily fish deliveries from Montauk, all hand-filleted, including fluke, porgies, cod, and black sea bass.
Red Horse buys from local fishermen who use traditional hook-and-line methods to catch tuna, swordfish, and striped bass. Line-caught fishing is a more sustainable approach, and individual handling means less bruising, resulting in better texture and superior-quality fish served at our seafood counter.

We also source the highest-quality wild salmon, as well as halibut and king crab from the West Coast and Alaska.
Our fish counter focuses on the top seafood purveyors in the country. If you don’t see something, then ask our staff to order it for you. We have excellent relationships with our seafood suppliers, and we typically fulfill special requests within a few days.
